Pupils achieve silver award - Well done

On the 25 - 27 April Keiran, Felix and Tom took part in a three day canoe expedition on the Lancaster canal. They had a 10 week preparation programme on the lead in to it to get there skills in place. This was the qualifying phase of the silver Duke of Edinburgh award.

Myself and Stuart were unknown to the students but they accepted us fully and got to know us over the three days becoming very chatty and showing there levels of humor.

The three lads throughout the whole expedition displayed confidence, independence and sensible judgement in all aspects and showed how well they could work together and support each other when the challenge became physically and mentally challenging needing to pull together to sort out real life situations that occurred.

They were fully respectful of all adults directly involved and the general public they met on route, taking everything in there stride.

Myself and stuart had a thoroughly enjoyable three days in the company of Keiron, Felix and Tom who displayed the resilience that will help these three mature young men in there chosen further education and careers, together they are a huge credit to the school,

Both myself and Stuart have encountered far bigger behavioural problems from students in mainstream education

We wish the lads all the best in there futures.
