Maths Curriculum
At Hope High School, we aim for our pupils to develop a strong foundation in mathematics by becoming fluent in its fundamentals.
This fluency is achieved through varied and frequent practice with increasingly complex problems, allowing students to develop a deep conceptual understanding and the ability to recall and apply knowledge rapidly and accurately.
We encourage students to reason mathematically by following lines of enquiry, making conjectures, and forming generalisations, while constructing arguments, justifications, or proofs using precise mathematical language.
Additionally, our students will enhance their problem-solving skills by applying mathematics to a range of routine and non-routine problems with growing sophistication, breaking down complex challenges into simpler steps, and persevering to find solutions.
