They work in close collaboration with each other and with our established provision within school, such as the Learning Resource facility and Nurture Class, to ensure that a holistic approach to supporting all pupil’s needs is provided.
Joanne Gladders: Specialist Teacher
As a Specialist Teacher at Hope High school I work with the young people to provide intensive specialist support to develop underpinning English and Maths skills. I also provide specialist input to pupils with Specific Learning Difficulty – Dyslexia.
As part of my role I provide assessment for pupils who may need additional support in exams through access arrangements. I also assess pupils identified on the Dyslexia Screener to explore further their strengths and areas for development.
I work closely with the staff team at Hope, providing ideas and strategies to enhance the learning of the young people. This includes the provision of training to enhance staff knowledge and development and working alongside staff within the classroom to support pupil’s learning throughout the day.
